About Me:
Life is full of significant milestones. Whether you are getting married, renewing your original marriage vows, welcoming a new life into the world or farewelling a loved one, it is important to define that moment with a ceremony that will leave memories that will not only last but will be unique and satisfying and provide a vehicle in which friends and family can join with you and support you.
Before deciding to become a celebrant full-time, I also worked as a secondary school teacher and have a BA.DipEd., with major studies in Ancient and Modern History and Aboriginal History. The last 9 years of my work in education was spent teaching young ladies from years 7 to 12, in a specialist unit for the intellectually disabled at a prestigious private college in Sydney. I have subsequently retired from teaching.
Being a celebrant allows me to do what I love – create unique, personalised ceremonies, which empower people to make choices that reflect their own spirituality and story.
Weddings
Your wedding day is one of the most important occasions in your life. It is essential that you have the complete freedom to choose the style of ceremony you want – the ceremony you have always dreamed of having, the one that will make your wedding an exciting and memorable occasion and as unique as you are.
You may wish to write your own vows, have family and friends involved in readings, singing and poetry recitals and use music that is of special significance to you.
You may wish to incorporate traditions from other cultures and religions or use a Candle Ceremony, Blessings of the Hands, Hand Binding or Sand Ceremony – the possibilities are endless and the choice is completely yours.
Funeral Services:
At such a sad time, families need someone with compassion and understanding, who will take time to organize a personal ceremony which will do honour to your loved one and bring a sense of closure for you. My funeral service focuses on the deceased and celebrates his/her life. Encouraging family involvement is often the best way to help with the grieving process.
