Lydia Peritore sceneAbout Me:

My passion is to create and conduct a beautiful and memorable ceremony that honours my clients and their guests. Ceremonies bring people together and mark milestones. A marriage celebration in particular is one of the most precious moments in a couple’s life, one that marks the beginning of a lifetime together.

Children are a blessing and a beautiful baby naming ceremony welcomes the child into the heart of the family.

A renewal of vows or a commitment ceremony is a wonderfully uplifting way for two people to reaffirm their love for each other.

A funeral is a special time for family and friends to gather together with dignity to honour and celebrate a beloved person’s life. It also provides courage and consolation to those left behind trying to cope with their grief.

I Conduct the Following Ceremonies::

Weddings:
Funerals:
Baby Namings:
Commitments:
Renewal of Vows:
Birthday celebrations/milestones:

Languages - fluent in:

English, French, Italian, Arabic.

I have already conducted two ceremonies in the French language.

I have a basic grasp of Greek and Hebrew and can perform readings and blessings in those languages.

I conduct one wedding ceremony only on the day thus ensuring that I am in top form and have rehearsed the ceremony right down to the smallest detail. I am available to the clients on the day – all day - for consultation if need be.  Likewise, for commitments, baby naming ceremonies or renewal of vows and any other ceremony - I NEVER accept more than one booking on any one day and I deliver 100 %.

I conduct all ceremonies to an excellent standard, and I especially love creating multi-cultural ones where readings in another language or symbolisms are involved.

For weddings, the procedure I follow is to first meet and sign the Notice of Intended Marriage and discuss the wedding plan and the couple’s expectations.

I meet or remain in contact with the couple face to face, by phone or via email as many times as they wish.  The aim is to create the ceremony of their choice and they need to trust me and rely on me 100%.

I will provide an initial booklet that explains the structure of the wedding ceremony, lists a number of vow suggestions as well as a list of readings/poems and music suggestions. As part of the service, I also have a list of wedding organisers, photographers and musicians.

Once the Notice of Intended Marriage is signed, I meet with the couple for a long consultation and ask questions about how they met and how they feel about each other and together we create a story about their relationship and discuss their preferences as to how they would like their wedding ceremony presented.  Some couples love details and sub-ceremonies, others prefer a more simple presentation.   This requires a lot of listening and creativity and I find that very often the couple rely on the celebrant for good advice and suggestions.  My biggest reward is to see the joy on the couple's face on the day of their wedding and especially at the end of a well presented wedding ceremony.

I will NEVER conduct a wedding without having a rehearsal.  The choreography and the music are the most important part of a wedding and I insist that everyone involved be present at the rehearsal.  It takes time and patience. The parties usually arrive confused and bewildered and go away feeling a sense of relief in the knowledge that on the day of the wedding everyone is clear about their role and their position in the overall choreography.

I always arrive at the venue one hour before the ceremony is due to start and ensure that the electronic equipment is working smoothly and all documents are in order and ready to be signed.   I am available on the day by mobile should an emergency arise.  I always have a backup celebrant in case I should become ill on the day or other emergencies arise.

It is my responsibility to take care of all the legal aspects of the wedding ceremony.  The Notice of Intended Marriage must be signed within the legal time required by the law. The declaration must be signed by law before the wedding - that is usually done on the day of the rehearsal or before - and all documents are duly signed during the ceremony.  I then send all the documents to the Registrar of Births Deaths and Marriages within the week following the wedding, always in an Express Post envelope which allows me to retain a number as proof of delivery.

All Baby Namings, Commitments and other ceremonies are created and conducted with the same professional approach as my wedding ceremonies.

I take great pride in my celebrancy profession and I look forward to one day creating a truly unique ceremony that you will remember with great joy for the rest of your lives.
